The Lord's Prayer
The prayer that Jesus taught His disciples, as recorded in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4.
Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, And the power, And the glory, Forever.
Amen.
"But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye..." — Matthew 6:7-9
