Liberate, Not Conquer
There is a joke among my mentors that our job is to "conquer the world." I laugh when I hear it, because I know what they actually mean. But the language matters. And when you get the language right, you get the mission right.
The world has already been conquered. And not by us.
The World Under Occupation
Satan has conquered this world. That is not hyperbole. It is the testimony of Scripture. Jesus Himself called Satan "the ruler of this world" (John 12:31). Paul called him "the god of this age, who has blinded the minds of unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 4:4). John wrote plainly: "the whole world lies in the power of the evil one" (1 John 5:19).
The mechanism of this conquest is not demonic armies in the sky. It is humans. Satan uses people as agents of darkness, sometimes knowingly, often unknowingly. They build systems designed to extract, addict, and enslave. They construct what I call sinfrastructure: the infrastructure of sin that makes destruction effortless and obedience costly. Pornography platforms, predatory algorithms, debt traps, content designed to spike cortisol and kill discernment. These are not neutral products. They are occupation infrastructure.
And here is the thing most people miss: our job is not to conquer anything. Our job is to liberate.
The Collapse Is Already Happening
The infrastructure of darkness is collapsing in real time. Pay attention and you can see it everywhere.
Dark companies are going bankrupt. Bubbles built on extraction and exploitation are popping. Agents of darkness are losing their credibility, their platforms, their influence. The systems that were not grounded in the Spirit are being exposed for what they always were: houses built on sand.
This is not wishful thinking. This is the natural consequence of building on a foundation that cannot hold. Jesus told us this would happen: "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots" (Matthew 15:13). We are watching it happen at scale, across industries, across institutions, across entire cultural movements that seemed invincible five years ago.
The old world of dark, systemic oppression is losing its structural power. The walls are cracking. The prisons are opening.
The Real Bottleneck: The Mind
But here is where the work gets hard. When the external structures of oppression collapse, what remains is the internal conditioning they left behind.
People who lived their whole lives under systems designed to keep them enslaved do not automatically walk free when the walls come down. They carry the mindsets of captivity. They still believe the lies: that indulgence is freedom, that obedience is repression, that they are not capable of the sovereign, God-honoring life that is their birthright.
This is the Exodus pattern. God brought Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders. The external bondage was broken overnight. But it took forty years to get Egypt out of Israel. The slave mindset was harder to break than Pharaoh's army.
We are in the same moment. The structural, systemic infrastructure of darkness is collapsing. What remains is individuals who have been conditioned by that infrastructure, people whose mindsets were shaped in an era of real spiritual oppression, who now face the liberating but terrifying truth: they are the only remaining bottleneck to their own freedom.
The Liberation Mission
So what is the actual mission of the Christ-centered technologist? It is not conquest. It is liberation.
We are called to support people with:
Liberation mindsets. The sovereign, biblical worldview that replaces the slave mentality the world installed. The understanding that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that you were bought at a price (1 Corinthians 6:20), that the Spirit of the Lord is upon you to proclaim freedom for the captives (Luke 4:18). These are not motivational slogans. They are the operating system for a free human being.
Liberation infrastructure. The tools, systems, and platforms that amplify human sovereignty instead of extracting it. This is what the Applied AI Society calls The Soul Harness: the liberating systems wrapped around a person that channel their God-given talent into productive, meaningful output. A predatory harness makes you dependent. A liberating harness makes you more capable and more free the longer you use it. We build the liberating kind.
Liberation playbooks. Open source, permissionless guides that teach people how to develop sovereign mindsets, build liberating harnesses, and stay on the narrow path. Not gatekept behind paywalls or exclusive communities. Available to anyone with the hunger to be free. Because the knowledge that liberates should not itself be locked up.
The goal, at every level (individual, communal, societal), is to help people stay on the liberating, sovereign, narrow path that Jesus Christ has laid before them. To be their own best ally in resisting the temptations that remain even after the external structures of darkness have fallen. To conquer lust. See: Conquer Lust, Be Unstoppable for the specific battle plan.] To guard their minds. To build with integrity. To walk in the freedom Christ purchased for them.
Not Conquerors. Liberators.
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free." — Luke 4:18
Jesus did not come to conquer. He came to liberate. He came to break chains, open eyes, and set captives free. And He sends us to do the same.
The Christ-centered technologist, the christofuturist, is not building an empire. They are building escape routes. They are building tools that help people think clearly, live freely, and walk obediently. They are replacing predatory systems with liberating ones. They are writing the playbooks, building the infrastructure, and cultivating the communities that make sovereign, God-honoring life possible for anyone willing to walk the narrow path.
The darkness is collapsing. The captives are waking up. The only question is whether we will be ready with what they need when they reach for freedom.
Build the liberation infrastructure. Write the liberation playbooks. Be the liberating presence. That is the mission.
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." — John 8:36
