Baptized in Holy Fire

A celebration of receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the gift of tongues

Fireshake

Today I was baptized in Holy Fire, And everything changed.

I felt the flames transfer From the apostles' hands to mine, Electricity surging through my body, Tingling with divine energy, A superpowered life-force Flooding every cell.

I felt super saiyan— Lit on fire with Heaven's power, Energized beyond anything earthly, Surrendered to something infinitely greater.

When they invited me to speak in tongues, Fear whispered: "You're not worthy, You won't be chosen, You can't cross that chasm."

But I was surrounded by believers Who knew I could do it, Who poured love into me, Who created the perfect environment For faith to overcome fear.

And then it happened— I crossed the chasm, Stepped into faith, And received the gift.

Now I have another language, A tongue the heart speaks fluently When English fails me, When human words are too small For what my spirit wants to say.

In this sacred tongue I declare: "I love You, I thank You, I have faith in You, Tell me what You need me to do, What are my steps? Show me the way."

Others may not understand the sounds, But You know exactly what I'm saying— Every syllable is worship, Every breath is surrender, Every word is "Thank You, Holy Ghost."

Thank You God for placing our Comforter Here on earth with us, For giving us a portal to Heaven That's always open, Always available, Always ready to receive The language of our hearts.

Now when my words fail, When my prayers feel too small, When my love is too big for vocabulary, I have this sacred tongue That speaks directly to Your heart.

The fire is still burning in me, The power is still surging, The love is still overwhelming— And I know it always will be.

Today I was baptized in Holy Fire, And I will never be the same.

Holy Ghost, we love You so much.

"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." — Acts 2:4
